Residents Excited About New Development in Pittsburgh’s Strip District

Pittsburgh residents looking for Downtown Pittsburgh real estate, condos and lofts are excited about new development in the Strip District.  The “Strip” is a sub-division of the Downtown Pittsburgh real estate market offering several unique loft style condos that mix well with the warehouse eclectic feel of the neighborhood.  The old Reem water heater factory at 2901 Penn was one of the first renovated smaller loft style buildings in the Strip.  Otto Milk Lofts is the newest offering for sale featuring luxury lofts style condos for sale ranging in price from about $300,000 for one bedroom, one bath condo with parking.  The Cork Factory and the Brake House are both rental properties enjoying high occupancy as more and more people move are looking for Downtown Pittsburgh real estate for sale or to rent.

According to a recent article in the Pittsburgh Post Gazzette The Buncher Co proposed the addition of 750 townhouses and apartments to the Strip District as part of a mixed use development with retail and office space on 37 acres from Smallman Street to the Allegheny River between Veterans Bridge and 21st Street. The proposed plan to develop includes both townhouses and apartments, plus retail and office spaces.  Currently there are 800 residents living in the Strip district up from less then 300 in 2000!
